Born in 1989, SimCity is an epic city building/managing simulator.  The game was beyond addicting and it actually became a large part of many gamer’s lives.  With such critical and gamer acclaim, Maxis took it further and created many sequels to SimCity.  There was SimCity 2k, 3k, 4, and several deluxe versions/ bundles.  Ever since the millions of fans have perfected their cities in SimCity 4, which was released in 2003, there has been anticipation for a fifth game.  With the failed release of SimCity Societies & SimCity Creator in 2007 and 2008, the demand for a REAL SimCity game has hit a new high!  Electronic Arts has totally revamped the series.  The new release coming in February of 2013 is more of a reboot than a sequel, and it looks great!

The New SimCity

The new game entitled SimCity is being built with the new GlassBox engine, and is ready to reclaim it’s spot as the number one city building game!  It is packed with tons of new features like the ability to build cities with your friends via online multiplayer.  The game will also feature hundreds of real world challenges, and situations that gamers will have to deal with using their available resources and funds.  Overall this long awaited reboot looks very strong, and many fans will be glad to see that they are going back to the original city building formula!
