I was told that I had to write an intro post. There’s not much I hate more than trying to come up with interesting things about myself that you might actually care about. So, here I am in 500 words or less.
I go by Quinstar. You can call me Quin, I’m cool with that. I like a lot of different things on a daily basis. I hail from the Midwest, born and raised. I attended college in Florida and spend about 4 months living in London and traveling. Apparently I missed seeing cornfields everywhere because I moved back here.
I obviously like beer or I’m sure I wouldn’t be writing for a site about beer among other things. I’ve never really drank any of the major players (Bud, Miller, Coors…). My tastes have always leaned towards imports and microbrews. I guess I shouldn’t say always seeing as I used to hate beer. When I was living in London I started drinking it because it cost less than a bottled water. What can I say, beer grew on me. When I took a trip to Ireland I tried a Guinness for the first time and stouts and I have been great friends ever since. That being said, I like beer of all styles, as long as it’s good.
My husband started brewing in our garage about a year ago. I’ve learned a lot about beer since then. More than I ever thought I’d want to, but I’m not sick of it yet so that’s a plus. I don’t limit my liquid consumption to just beer however, I love good wine and I absolutely adore Scotch. It’s my go to after dinner drink.
I’m big on running. Probably to offset all those beer calories I consume. I love to run. It’s about the only exercise that I stay consistent at. I ran my first half marathon last fall and have already signed up for 2 this year. I may even try a full marathon, who knows. If not this year then definitely by 2013. I think taking care of your body is very important. I don’t eat fast food and stay away from processed foods as much as possible. You should try it sometime.
I like video games as well. I started playing on the NES when I was 3 or 4 and have been completely addicted ever since. I like all genres, but I’m partial to shooters and action/adventure games. I have a PS3 and a 360, but I spend most of my time on my PS3 (often referred to as Drake now). Yes, I name my consoles, get over it.
So, that’s me in a nutshell I guess. Terribly interesting I know. I’m going to stop now, as I promised that this intro would be 500 words or less and I’m closing in on my limit.
Hope to see y’all around the forums and Cheers!
