Farva and I were fortunate enough to get into the Crysis 2 Party last night (Thurday night) before PAX – thanks to Dave and the guys at Sarcastic Gamer! Aside from rubbing elbows with the gaming community elite, we actually got a chance to try out the game! Forgive the somewhat inconsistent quality of the video of the game and look up some vids for yourself if you want to see its quality, but it looks great. I’m very excited that a game that only PC Elitists were really able to enjoy is now coming to consoles, where it can be appreciated by a larger audience. Check out the video from the party below:

Altogether, the game was a lot of fun. We each played a couple of multiplayer maps and while the leveling/perk systems weren’t available for us to check out, the overall gameplay was fast, tight, and visceral. We determined the gameplay had the speed and crazy combat dynamics of Halo while the characters had the fragility of characters in Modern Warfare 2. After playing it for real, I’ll definitely be keeping a closer eye on this one than I was before.
