Gabriela Cedillo

Talkingship has its roots planted firmly in a town called Hammond, Indiana.  Nothing very special happens there, besides frequent gang killings, but a few movie directors seem to like the locale, including Oliver Stone, who filmed Natural Born Killers (which I was an extra in) there, and Michael Bay, who is currently filming scenes from Transformers 3 in my home town.

Unfortunately, the news we got today from Hammond is of the dramatically bad nature.  An extra on the set, Gabrielo Cedillo, was asked to sit in her car while a stunt went on beside her.  This is a huge mistake, and should have never happened.  There are a ton of rules against utilizing extras in scenes with stunts for VERY good reasons, one of which Bay learned today.  While the stunt was going on, a cable snapped and whipped through Cedillo’s car and most of her head.  Currently, Cedillo is listed in critical condition and the set of Transformers is in crisis.  This is the sort of event that can shut a film’s production down for good, and even if that doesn’t happen you can rest assured that a lot of people are going to be getting into a lot of trouble over this one.  Let’s send out some good thoughts to Cedillo and her family.
