Chuck Testa owns a taxidermy shop in Ojai Valley, California. He set out to increase his business with a low budget commercial featuring his stuffed animals fooling people into believing that they were still alive and doing odd things. I don’t know who it was that had the vision to create this masterpiece, but what they did went far beyond simply putting out a dumb commercial. Either Chuck himself, or someone involved in this project, recognized that Chuck’s deadpan delivery of the line, “Nope! Chuck Testa,” was the greatest thing ever recorded. While everything you see here will stick with you harder then the first time you saw your parents naked, the commercial is capped off with a brilliant piece of understated wit. As the Rhino orders a drink, and Chuck Testa delivers his famous line, an elephant whines out from somewhere. Why does the rhino make elephant noises? I don’t know, but I love it.
This is my favorite thing in a long, long time. I love this guy with all my heart. This commercial is a revelation in the greatest way imaginable.
