The general idea of his thread was to, pretty much, tell us everything good we already know about the PS3 hyped up a couple noches along with everything we know is wrong with 360 hyped up even more. I’m at the point where critical mass has been reached and I’m ready to do a Veidt on some unsuspecting Comedian. I want to clarify that I own a PS3…I am loyal to PS3…I probabaly will not ever get a 360 (mooching off my friend’s is good enough for me)…but even I have a point where I get so fucking angry about why everyone on video game forums are just…

Well, that is why I posted this. I wanted to share my response to this dude, as I need to put it somewhere else besides SG to get responses (I mean…the thread is fuckin locked :P)

Seriously. Was this huge rant necessary when we have several other threads AND a fairly big/new one in the general section about it? Was your OPINION (even being a PS3 gamer, I can’t call this fact at all, seeing as everyone has preferences about everything and will disagree no matter what) really important enough to warrant a thread everyone is going to throw rocks at you, personally, for?

Skimming your note, I can already make the safe assumption that we can file 100% of what you wrote under “shit THEY already know”. If you’re going to do this to get the XBox guys on board, you’re choosing your own urn and tossing yourself into the fire. When have you ever known the XBox fans on here to jump ship because one PlayStation person decided another in a pile of threads about console vs. console would convince them to see the “light?” Name at least 5 instances on Sarcastic Gamer. I bet you can’t. As a matter of fact, I’d be perfectly safe to bet my PS3 on it.

If you’re doing this for self gratification in hopes that the PS3 guys will agree with you…well fuck, man…no shit they’ll agree with you. Did you think you needed to convince us that our system is good? You’re extolling the virtues of our “baby” and we’ll almost always agree with you…so we can file your post under “shit WE already know” too, can’t we?

Honestly. You would think that after all this time we’d get tired of arguing back and forth about a hunk of metal and plastic that makes loud whirring noises when it’s on for too long. Since 2005, this generation has been filled with nothing but lunacy and dumb asses trying to stretch their console penises just that much farther forwards so as to make it look bigger, even when all they’ve got is an inch.

Why do we take this crap so damn seriously? It makes no logical sense that we can’t disregard which console each person has and talk about the fucking games the things play. I would have thought that all these years of bickering would have ended a long time ago…I would have thought that we would be seeing each other as gaming brethren by now. I would have thought that people would realize that we’re fighting over what are, essentially, toys (and don’t fucking tell me they aren’t, because they are big toys for big kids like us) and (as a result) make an effort to pull their collective panties out of their collective ass holes. Is that a bad thing to hope for, because I sure as hell am getting sick of all the bickering…not just here, but EV-ER-Y-WHERE!

So maybe it’s hypocritical that I counter your long rant with one of my own. I don’t fucking care. Read it or don’t. Just know that I think everyone is acting like a bunch of buffoons riding unicycles and they need to hop off and get punched or something to that effect.
