Favorite SNES Game

Let's go back in the way back machine and let the old folks reminisce a little. What was your favorite SNES game?

That's a tough question. I still feel like the SNES was one of the greatest consoles ever made. Sorry Genesis owners, but you got the shit kicked out of you and anyone who tries to say that the Genesis was the superior system can suck a monkey turd. The SNES was king!

Here's a good article to help you remember some of the classics before making your final choice:

I think I'm going to have to go with Secret of Mana. I loved that game - and I still remember the KICK-ASS song that accompanied the end guy fight.

Remember - this was from a long time ago, and music like this just didn't appear in games. This song almost sounds like a Nine Inch Nails early version. I fucking LOVED it when I first got there - and it made the boss battle so epic.

Okay - bear with me as I hardcore geek out here. This was the opening theme, and hearing it makes me want to play this game SO BAD!!

That game is reason I got the multitap, 3 person co-op was crazy fun. For me it is between Secret of Mana, Link to the Past, Mario World, Uniracers, Chrono Trigger... too many choices...

I know it's lame, but I'd have to go with Street Fighter 2. I can't even recall the number of hours spent in my friends basements till two or three in the morning playing this thing. We tried Killer Instinct, and Mortal Kombat, but always worked our way back to SF2.

My favorite SNES game was by far Super Mario RPG, I played that game non-stop for days. I wish they would remake THAT game.

I'll second that. They've attempted to recapture the Super Mario RPG vibe with the Paper Mario games, but they're just not the same. I'd have to say Super Mario World stands up the best for me. I have gone back to that well multiple times since the SNES faded away.

I never got to play the Paper Mario games, were they any good? I missed out on most of the Gamecube stuff. If I could find it would it be worth a purchase?

Yeah they're pretty good, no Mario RPG, but it's pretty obvious where the inspiration came from.

Bowser's inside story for the DS is also in the same vain of Mario RPG games, and is fun.
