Hey Everyone,
Thanks for joining the Talkingship forums! We're growing quickly, and we really want to make sure that this site becomes one of your favorite stops in your internet travels. That's why I want to hear what you think makes a great forum? What are the things you want to see in the forum groups that you belong to?

What makes a great forum?

Some people like to have a Blog type thing built in. If you do try something like this make sure to make a section in the forums devoted to them.

Also titties... and beer.

Also Deadpool.

I do believe, (besides the number of members and their contributions) But, its the staff and people behind the forums that makes a great forum. People that are actively around to help out and give great content to whomever wants to take a gander at it. Whether it be News, Games, Funny articles, or just some random hot chick you snapped a pic of on the way to work this morning.... Its alll about the content and the people bringing the content to you.

I think as long as you have a bunch of cool people in the forums and not stupid douche bags then you will have a good forum.

Hmm, then I guess we're in trouble because on my application for the Crewbie positions I put in a requirement that the applicant was an utter doucher. I was hoping to make sure and keep out any smelly vagina's, but I think I ended up with a bunch of dicks!

I think that if the mods are active members just like the regular members then that adds a lot to the forum. That way, they feel like a part of the forum instead of outside policemen, which adds to the enjoyability of the forum.

Additionally, I think little inside jokes among the community really help as well. In the end, I think it's all about feeling like a community. If you feel like s part of the site, then you've got a good forum.

Active members, site owners that post a lot, and of course memes

ME!

ok so maybe not.

I think sharing a common intrest, in this case, the Show, makes sure you get like-minded folk together and that'll cause some chemistry and it'll all just kick off :D

That's pretty accurate, except inside jokes can be substituted for memes.

Since memes are inside jokes, I think that's what he meant.

Memes tend to leak out into other parts of the internet, but inside jokes stay inside the community in which they were made. So I still say that inside jokes > memes.

4chan = memes.
Anything I have to do with = inside jokes.
