View Full Version : Nintendo Press Conference Discussion Thread

We're about 13 minutes from kickoff. I'm going to miss the first part of it with a meeting, but I'll join the discussion as soon as I'm out!

Zelda cool but can it be played with a controller?

06-15-2010, 10:24 AM
The new Zelda looks hot. 1:1 sword controls in Link's universe is something I'm very much interested in.

Mario Sports Mix could be interesting too, as a party game. It wouldn't get me to hook the Wii back up, though.

Now Reggie's talking about how all the assumptions about people not buying games for the Wii and not playing the Wii as much as other consoles are completely untrue. Reggie, I'm living proof that those assumptions are totally accurate.

I never got the connection before, and now I feel like a moron.

Wii Party = Mario Party with Miis

I'm wondering why they didn't just put that Goldeneye remake out on the Gamecube. It doesn't look all that visually impressive. But the trailer still got me pumped to play. And it's coming out in November, that's huge.

Here you go, Farva. 34 minutes in, Epic Mickey.

06-15-2010, 10:36 AM
Uh oh. Mickey's tail is clipping right through his face. A character clipping through itself? Not a good omen.

06-15-2010, 10:37 AM
Looks like the core mechanics are pretty solid, but it may rely too much on the pointer. I've never been a big fan of having to point at the screen for the entire length of a game. Especially not one with the prefix "Epic".

06-15-2010, 10:38 AM
Goldeneye looks cool i guess as does Epic Mickey

06-15-2010, 10:40 AM
The sidescrolling stuff looks really good. I love the film strip guide animation at the top and bottom of the level, that's a nice touch. Looks like a good, solid rental right now. Maybe more.

Kirby's back? Kirby's back! Sweet.

06-15-2010, 10:44 AM
Oh man, I might get diabetes if I play this new Kirby game. Not sure how I feel about the line-art style.

06-15-2010, 11:01 AM
Wow, the 3DS may be the way 3D gets into the home. "Without grrrrasses"

06-15-2010, 11:03 AM
Icarus! Wow, that game looks fantastic.

06-15-2010, 11:04 AM
Holy shit, I thought it was a Wii game. The graphical fidelity of the 3DS look great. The Icarus gameplay reminded me of Nights for the Dreamcast, with what looks to be some pretty solid combat elements. So far, Nintendo's blowing the doors off of this E3.

06-15-2010, 11:06 AM
When. When can I spend $250 (that's my guess) on this piece of hardware?

06-15-2010, 11:19 AM
No price, no date on 3DS. But that is how you do a press conference.

06-15-2010, 11:41 AM
Good for Nintendo finally a good show. When I look at Nintendo games I still don't see hardcore games other than maybe Zelda and Metroid.

06-15-2010, 04:19 PM
Bravo on the 3DS! This is definitely the way of the future for 3D.

06-15-2010, 06:04 PM
That was a great show! Can't wait for the 3DS, Kid Icarus: Uprising, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, and Epic Mickey. And Golden Sun.

06-16-2010, 09:19 AM
Hm... I'm thinking I may have to get the Wii out of the closet and dust it off for a few of these. I knew I didn't sell if for a reason.

06-16-2010, 09:25 AM
The 3DS may be the first DS that I buy...it looks pretty sweet! The new zelda and metroid games look pretty interesting. Guess I'll be dusting off the 'ol Wii as well.
