So, simply, if you got any ideas, coupons, websites, tips, etc, that could help a fellow shiphead to save a couple bucks, put them here.

Gonna post one.

1. Goldstar.com

Yes, you have to sign-up, but it is totally worth it. It is like... an internet club? but it gives GREAT discounts into nightclubs, restaurants, concerts, social events, and more.

2. Check your mail, save your coupons.

Especially if you eat on the go often. Don't know much about other states but like every other week Carls Jr. and KFC give out ton of coupons to meals half prize and such.

3. The awesomeness of buckets.(think of your water bill!),

This is a bit more of the eco-freak in me, but seriously, the water you waste while waiting for your shower to get hot can be used to water the plants, flush the toilet, wash your car, and do about everything where water is needed.

4. Target is your friend.

Let's say you want something (a dvd,blu-ray, or a cd) on the day of the release. It is the best time to get it at target because (most of the time) it will have a big discount, like ten bucks off.

And I really don't buy much online, but I am pretty much there are so many sweet tips you guys can give on that side.

Lets see some more tips, and happy saving!

Here's my tidbit.

Used tire stores.
I got 2 brand new(ish) tires for $30
New ones would have cost me $100 each.
Also, they installed them in 5 mins where the national chain had me waiting for 1 hour to tell me how long it will be,.

cheapassgamer.com

This is where I get most of my info. Ironically enough, if I'd never found cheapassgamer I'd probably not has spent as much on video games as I have now, because I would have never even bought games I've gotten deals on through that site. If I find a particularly juicy one, I'll let you know. The big game savings over the next couple weeks are all for pre-orders at Amazon, as usual.

Alan Wake $59.99 - with a $10 games credit (http://www.amazon.com/Alan-Wake-Xbox-360/dp/B0010AYJXI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1273763022&sr=8-1)
Red Dead Redemption $59.99 - with a $20 games credit (http://www.amazon.com/Red-Dead-Redemption-Xbox-360/dp/B001SH7YMG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1273763022&sr=8-3)
Super Mario Galaxy 2 $49.99 - with a $20 games credit (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BSA388/ref=s9_newr_gw_ir01?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0ZCK6NEQXXP6P8WG475C&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846)

Halo Reach also gets a $20 games credit, but that one's a little too far out there to be on my radar.

Go nuts.

Oh snap! While I'm at it:

Super Street Fighter 4 - $26 plus $10 game credit

PS3 (http://dealnews.com/lw/artclick.html?2,365512,1141494)
360 (http://dealnews.com/lw/artclick.html?2,365512,1141496)

Gotta use coupon code 2D15 to bring it down to $25.50. Smoking deal for a good fighting game. Looks like it's backordered but the deal is still live. I pulled the trigger and haven't seen word on the gift card yet, but it looks pretty legit.

Here's another one - The Microsoft Store is having a clearance on 360 games, anything found at the link below:

Eligible 360 Games (http://store.microsoft.com/content.aspx?cntid=3063)

Are 50% off with the coupon code CLR-MSFT-Games-50%. Admittedly, some of these games are priced way too expensively (Red Faction for $60? Really?), but there are some deals to be had here. Street Fighter 4, Lego Star Wars, and The Orange Box for $10, for example. Shipping starts at $5.

I just found a crazy good one, if you haven't picked up Mario Galaxy 2 yet. Here's the link:

Super Mario Galaxy 2 at Gamestop (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/productDetails.aspx?sku=230653&affID=77777&sourceID=NKa3hZyYoHA-qCJJp.LLOqZAsORlgOX9gg) (side note: pretty funny they already have it used, it just came out two days ago!)

Use coupon code GS20 to get 20% knocked off, which will bring it to $39.99. Plus GS throws in a $20 coupon. Not exactly getting it for $20, but that's about as close as you're going to get and its the best deal I've seen for the game yet.

Are you really that surprised that it is available used already? Not that I think it is crap, because it is obviously a good game, but I think a lot of folks are like me. I bought Mario Galaxy 1 because I thought I was going to love it. I have a lot of fond memories of the old mario games from my youth, but then when I played the new one, I realized that these sort of platformers are just not that interesting to us anymore.

I was a little surprised that they had it used two days after release, but looking back I don't think it was available, I think they just had a placeholder price for when it did come used. Which is more than most are charging for it new. Including them. Madness.

Anyway, here's some Memorial Day Weekend deals for PC gamers that I found.

Sins of a Solar Empire for $4 (ImpulseDriven) (http://www.impulsedriven.com/sin)

Dawn of War II and the expansion, Chaos Rising for $20 (Steam) (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/4026/)

Both these deals being available the same day is kind of interesting, because they represent two ends of the strategy spectrum. If you are into the hardcore turn-based total battlefield control sim, go for Sins. If you are into the RTS perspective but only like managing one "hero" unit (I fit into this category) go for Dawn of War II.

Looks like there was more than meets the eye with that Impulse sale. They have quite a few other deals, including ones on the Mass Effect collection (1&2) and Dragon Age collection (original&expansion). Joystiq did a pretty good job of compiling the deals, their article is here:

Impuse Memorial Day Sale compiled list (http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/28/sins-of-a-solar-empire-for-4-mass-effect-and-dragon-age-bundle/#continued)

Also, Dark Void is only $9.99, which makes it a little more expensive than a rental. Is it worth it? Sort of up to you, but the game got some lukewarm reviews for every other mechanic except its jetpack. Which apparently was pretty bad ass once you got used to it. Plus, being a GFW release, you can get achievements for your 360 profile, if that's your thing. If you're interested, here you go:

And the backlog continues for Fisherman ...

3D Dot Game Heroes $29.99 at Gamestop, plus $10 off future order (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=76341&affID=77777&sourceID=FKSJxY2VJAk-VEdTNKYQlHj.PNM706aHBg)

I don't know where Gamestop gets off being a discount game retailer, but I like it. The game retails for $40, but you're essentially getting it for $20 (plus the tax of $30) here. Sweet deal.

If you're looking for anything else over there, don't forget to use these coupon codes:

Not only is 3D Dot Game Heroes on sale, but GameStop.com is also offering a $10 credit bonus. If you have some other shopping in mind, you can use these coupon codes:

SAVER - Free value shipping
20OFF80 - $20 off any in-stock order $80 or more
25DEAL - 25% off any in-stock order $100 or more
OFF60 - $10 off any in-stock game $59.99 or more

Also, as announced on GameLounge Episode 1 (http://www.talkingship.com/forums/showthread.php?p=9115#post9115) (you really should check it out), Amazon is having a smoking deal on fanboy fodder ... er ... official console gaming magazines. You know how sometimes you go to the grocery store and you impulse buy one of these things off the rack for $6? Well, now you can subscribe for $5 for a year.

Official Xbox Magazine also comes with the demo disc, if any of you neandrathals aren't connected to XBL where you get demos for FREE. Anyway, this deal ends Saturday, so get on your collective horses. I picked up 3 of the 4, can you guess which one I left out?

Official Playstation Magazine (http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-The-Official-Magazine-1-year/dp/B00026EFR6/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=magazines&qid=1275596583&sr=8-4)
Official Xbox Magazine (with disc) (http://www.amazon.com/Official-Xbox-Magazine-DVD-1-year/dp/B00005QDWQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=magazines&qid=1275596583&sr=8-1)
Nintendo Power (http://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Power/dp/B001074CAQ/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=magazines&qid=1275596583&sr=8-7)

If you're already a subscriber to these publications you can also renew your sub for $5 for a year, but not from these links. If that's the case for you just search the name of the magazine in Amazon and the re-up will come up as a separate product.
